We recommend Aunt Fannie’s Multi-Surface Floor Cleaner or Hardwood Floor Cleaner (depending on your floor type).
If you’re looking to add a cleaning agent to the water while Matic mops, we recommend filling the solvent tank with water (about 90% full) and then adding up to one capful of Aunt Fannie’s Multi-Surface Floor Cleaner or Hardwood Floor Cleaner, depending on your floor type. This will help with mopping effectiveness and also leave a nice scent behind. Choose any scent you prefer. Here are some popular options:
- Multi-surface floor cleaner
- Bright Lemon ☀️🍋
- Lavender 🌸
- Eucalyptus 🌲
- Hardwood floor cleaner
- Bright lemon ☀️🍋
⚠️ Please do not use any other additives that are not recommended for use by Matic in any concentration as this might hinder your robot’s functionality or damage it.
Detailed Instructions 📝
- After removing the water tank from Matic, remove the cap and give the tank a quick rinse to remove any soapy water left in the tank from previous cleaning sessions
- Fill the tank approximately 90% the way up with water - leaving enough room for the cleaning liquid and water tank cap
- Remove the cap from Aunt Fannie’s floor cleaner bottle and pour in up to one capful of the liquid per tank.
- Pour the cleaner directly into the tank
- Twist on the lid and insert the water tank back into Matic
Important Things to Keep in Mind ⚠️
- Do not add cleaning liquids other than what is recommended
- As of now only Aunt Fannie’s line of floor cleaners are approved for Matic
- Adding any other chemicals can cause damage to the bot
- Do not increase the soap concentration beyond what is recommended
- The maximum soap concentration is 1 cap full per full solvent tank
- Do not increase the amount of soap - e.g. adding 2 caps per solvent tank
- Do not decrease the amount of water - e.g. adding 1 cap to a half-way filled solvent tank
- Changing the soap concentration can cause the robot to leave from on the floor or cause the HEPA bag to leak water
- Do not add more soap until the solvent tank is empty
- The recipe calls for 90% of the solvent tank to be full of water - this water should not have previously mixed soap in it to avoid increasing the soap concentration
- Best practice is to wait until the solvent tank is empty → rinse out the tank if it has any liquid left in it → and follow the dilution ratio to make a fresh batch of solution
