How to add multiple floors

Step 1: Bring Matic to the New Floor

When you move Matic to a different level, it will automatically detect the change and prompt you to Map A New Floor in the app.

If you don't see the prompt:

1. Tap the edit map tab (fourth icon on the bottom bar).
2. Tap Add New Map.

Step 2: Let Matic Map the New Floor

Matic will begin mapping the new floor. Once mapping is complete, it will clean based on your scheduled or manual commands. Matic remembers each floor's unique layout and will automatically switch to the correct map when you move it between floors. You can also manually switch between floors in the app by tapping the floor name.

For Homes with Sunken Living Rooms

Map the sunken and raised areas as the same floor. Matic will detect the ledge on its own, but when moving it between the two levels, place it a few feet away from the ledge. You'll need to manually carry Matic between sections, so we recommend placing the dock on whichever level you use most.

Dock Relocation Recommended

Matic can map and clean without a dock, but if it can't find one to recharge mid-session, its battery may slowly drain. For a smoother experience, consider moving the dock to that floor, or adding a second dock, so Matic can recharge easily wherever it's working.

Stair detection

Matic can automatically detect stairs and avoid falling down. In rare cases, it may not label a staircase correctly, so after mapping a new floor, check the map to confirm stairs are marked as a no-go zone. If they aren't, add "stairs" over that area yourself.
