Matic is designed to intelligently map multiple floors of your home. When you move Matic upstairs, it will automatically detect the new environment and prompt you to create a new map.
How to Add a New Map:
-
Automatic Detection:
- When Matic detects a new floor, it will display a "map my home" button on the app screen.
- Simply tap this button to initiate the mapping process.
-
Manual Initiation:
- If the button doesn't appear, manually start the process by:
- Opening the app.
- Tapping the map icon in the top right corner (second from the top).
- Selecting "add to map" and then "re-map my home."
- If the button doesn't appear, manually start the process by:
Cleaning Different Floors:
Once you've created maps for multiple floors, cleaning different levels is easy:
- Bring Matic to the desired floor.
- Matic will automatically detect the current floor and load the appropriate map.
- Start a cleaning cycle as you normally would.
Important Notes:
- Multiple Map Storage: Matic saves individual maps for each floor. When you move Matic back downstairs, it will automatically switch to the previous map.
-
Dock Placement:
- While Matic can map and clean multiple floors without moving the dock, it's recommended to either bring the dock to the new floor or purchase an additional dock.
- If Matic can't find its dock after a cleaning/mapping cycle, it may continue searching, draining its battery.
- Additional Dock: For a seamless multi-floor experience, you can purchase an additional dock here. This will allow Matic to easily transition between levels.
- Safety First: Always set up no-go zones around stairs to prevent accidents.
By following these steps, you can easily expand Matic's cleaning capabilities to multiple floors.
