How often will I need to replace the HEPA bag?

The HEPA bag is designed to hold about a week’s worth of debris with daily vacuuming and mopping. Replacement frequency will vary based on your usage and unique home environment. 

 

How often will I need to refill the water tank?

The water tank holds 600mL, enough to mop 1,300 square feet. Refill frequency will vary based on your usage.

 

Can I schedule Matic to clean when and where I want?

Yes! You can easily add and edit multiple cleaning schedules in the Matic app. You can even schedule it to clean specific rooms or frequently messy areas that you’ve highlighted on the map.

 

What is the battery life of Matic?

With a full battery, Matic can complete 2.5 hours of vacuuming or 3 hours of mopping. When its battery is low, Matic will automatically return to the dock, charge, then resume cleaning where it left off.

 

How is my personal information kept private and secure when using Matic?

With Matic, your audio and video data never leaves your home. Matic's intelligence is localized on the device, and it never sends any of your data to the cloud for processing. That means no user’s audio or video information is ever shared, sold, or even collected in the first place, except in limited circumstances when we provide support services (and explicitly authorized by you). How frequently do I need to replace the brush and mop roll?

The self-cleaning mop roll may need to be replaced every 1-6 months. The tangle-free brush roll may need to be replaced every ~5 months. Replacement frequency will depend on your usage.

 

Can Matic clean in the dark or at night?

Yes, Matic uses infrared lights to navigate and clean in low-light conditions and is quiet enough to operate at night without disturbing your family.

 

Matic's display is always on, and I can hear a fan. Is that normal?

Both are normal! Matic's display and LED light around its button will remain on until you shut Matic down via the app or by long pressing the play/pause button. Matic's fan stays on as well to combat any moisture build up in the machine while it is not being used. 

 

Do you support both iPhone and Android?

At this time, we only support iOS. We plan to have Android support by Fall 2025.

 

Can I use my Matic without a WiFi connection?

Matic requires a WiFi connection for full functionality. Here’s why:
  1. Software Updates: Matic receives over-the-air updates to improve performance and add new features. A WiFi connection is necessary for these updates to download and install.
  2. Robot-to-App Communication: Matic sends data—like its 3D visual map—to your phone over your local WiFi network. This communication stays within your home network and doesn’t go through the internet, but both your phone and the robot must be connected to the same WiFi.
  3. Remote Control: To control Matic from outside your home, an internet connection is required. The app connects to the robot through a secure VPN tunnel, which allows for safe, remote access.
If you don’t have WiFi, you can connect Matic to a mobile hotspot from your phone. Just note that you’ll need to keep the hotspot on whenever you want to use the app with Matic, which may drain your phone battery faster.
 

What is Matic’s Warranty Policy?

Standard Warranty - Matic is designed to clean your floors daily – and designed to last. We stand behind our product with a 1-year limited warranty, meaning if your Matic has any problems, our team will repair or replace your Matic as long as you purchased directly through Matic. (terms apply)

 

What is Matic's Return Policy?

Subject to the terms and conditions of this Return Policy, you, the original purchaser, have sixty (60) calendar days from the date of delivery of a purchased Product (“Return Period”) to return it to us for a refund.
