How to get rid of odor from your Matic
If your Matic has developed an unpleasant smell, it can usually be solved by addressing odor sources, cleaning the mop roll and cavity, and refreshing the bin, solvent tank, and antimicrobial cartridge as needed.
💡Adding Aunt Fannie's to the solvent tank is the best way to prevent odors in your Matic. Learn more here: What cleaning solutions can I use with Matic?
Step 1: Check your HEPA Bag
Check if the robot has picked up anything excessively smelly, such as pet waste or spilled dairy. If the bag has odor, we recommend replacing the HEPA (high efficiency particulate air) bag even if it's not completely full. Watch instructions on changing the bag here:
Step 2: Clean the Mop Roll and Mopping Cavity
If the odor persists after adding Aunt Fannie's and replacing the bag:
- Clean the Mop Roll:
- Remove the mop roll and rinse it under running water.
- Make sure it is completely dry before reinserting it.
- Find instructions on replacing the mop roll here.
- Clean the Mopping Cavity:
