Mop Roll Worn Out/ Missing error
If your Matic robot repeatedly displays "Mop Roll Worn Out" or "Mop Roll Missing" errors, this guide will help you identify and resolve the issue.
1. Check the Mop Roll
If the mop roll looks worn, frayed, or flattened, try washing it under running water and letting it dry fully. This can help it fluff back up. If it's still looking worn after washing, replace it.
We recommend replacing every 1–3 months depending on use. You can order a replacement here.
2. Check alignment and assembly
The most common cause is the mop roll not being fully seated. Remove it and reinsert it, pressing firmly until it clicks into place. The white handle should sit flush with the cleaning head.
If the error keeps coming back
The mop roll is made up of three parts — the idler, core, and mop roll — and the error can return if any of them is broken, not fully assembled, or became dislodged during a cleaning cycle.
Remove the mop roll and fully disassemble it into its three parts. Check each one for visible damage and make sure everything reassembles correctly before reinserting.

If the error still isn't clearing, there's one more thing to check: small magnets inside the mop roll cavity help Matic detect whether the roll is present. If these are missing or damaged, Matic will show a Missing error even when the roll is correctly seated and spinning.

Submit a ticket in the Matic app (Settings > Support > Contact Us) and include:
- A photo of each disassembled part — idler, core, and mop roll
- A photo of the magnets inside of the mop roll cavity as shown in the image above so we can check whether the detection magnets are present and intact
- Which error you're seeing — Worn Out or Missing
