Matic is leaving mop streaks
If Matic is leaving streaks while mopping, this is usually related to mop roll saturation or cleanliness. The steps below will help you reduce streaking.
Step 1: Press "New Mop Roll Inserted" in App Settings
Go to Settings > New Mop Roll Inserted to tell Matic to saturate the mop roll with the full amount of water possible. You don't need to actually replace the mop roll to do this — this setting simply tells Matic to add extra water to the mop roll the next time it starts mopping.
Step 2: Replace or Clean the Mop Roll
A common cause of streaking is a dirty mop roll. We recommend replacing your mop roll every 1–3 months. In between replacements, you can handwash the mop roll under running water with soap, making sure to rinse out all the soap completely, and let it fully dry before reinserting it into Matic.
Step 3: Allow More Time for Saturation
As Matic continues to mop, the mop roll gradually absorbs more water, which helps reduce streaking. Streaks typically become less noticeable after 5–10 minutes of mopping, once the mop roll reaches optimal saturation.
Step 4: Try Double Pass Mopping
Double Pass Mopping is designed to help with exactly this. When turned on, Matic mops at 60% slower speed and completes two full passes over every area, helping pick up any residue that a single pass might leave behind.
To turn it on:
- Open the Matic app.
- Go to Settings.
- Tap Advanced Features.
- Under Beta, turn on Double Pass Mopping.
